About sodium phosphate
Sodium phosphate is produced by an acid base reaction between phosphoric acid and sodium hydroxide or soda ash (sodium carbonate) in a reactor. Two of the facilities, Solutia-Augusta and Solutia-Carondelet add potassium hydroxide and sodium chlorate to the initial reaction mixture.
