About Ferric Chloride
Ferric chloride solution appears as a colourless to light brown aqueous solution that has a faint hydrochloric acid odour. Ferric chloride is non-combustible and Highly corrosive to most metals and probably corrosive to tissue. The boiling point and melting point of Ferric chloride is about 316 °C and 304 °C respectively. The density is 2.9 g/cm*. It is soluble in cold water at 74.4 g/100 cc at 0 °C. Ferric chloride is readily soluble in liquids like ketones, alcohols, ethers, nitriles, amines, and liquid sulphur dioxide, but only sparingly soluble in nopolar solvents such as benzene and hexane.
